About

Marcus Blakeston was born in Northumberland, but emigrated to Yorkshire at the age of two and has been there ever since. During the punk explosion he wrote for various fanzines and shouted poetry at bemused audiences. Since then he has written various works of fiction loosely based on his past, present and future life.

While he has a Twitter account you would be better off finding him on Facebook instead, or by email if it is anything important:

Are you Mr Ploppy, who offered to convert an ebook with strange characters in a forum?

Hi Markus, I wrote a while back saying that Mark Astronaut & myself are trying to re-release In Defense of Compassion on CD + could we use the artwork you have? We would want to update a few things + can give a credit/website link on cover if you like. Let us know if you can help! Cheers, Nick

    • Yes, of course. I’ll have a look through my stuff and see if I’ve got any higher resolution versions of it I can send. If you don’t have access to the original tapes for that album, I have 24-bit 96k recordings from a mint vinyl copy if you want them.

Thanks Marcus, the help with artwork will be greatly appreciated + we’ll be very happy let you have some of the CDs. I’m checking with Mark on the sound files we have + I might come back to you on that (my own copy was far from mint and sadly lost). I think the guys making the CD would want editable pdf’s so we can change any defunct info + add barcode, etc. This project came from a shared cab ride with Mark and both of us bemoaning the lack of availability of IDOC, which we both loved as an LP. Again, really appreciate your help with this!
